Changing the Pattern starts with...

Military Veterans

This section of the Quilt honors three  members of the military who died of AIDS.

The lives of Joe Pifath, Peter Johnson and Ted Carlson are celebrated with these beautifully made panels.

Sewn into each one is the military uniform they wore while serving our country with honor and distinction.

The panels were made as part of the AIDS Memorial Quilt Call My Name program as part of a series of quilt-making workshops in Atlanta, Georgia.

“They served at a time when many in the military feared policies that targeted and discriminated against them.  Even so, they served our country with honor.”
